About 2-3 weeks ago, I followed a CouchSurfer, who was looking for some company to visit Lynn Canyon Park and it’s famous suspension bridge.
It was my first trip outside of Vancouver since my arrival. This is not a big park in the countryside, it is located in North Vancouver and is accessed easily by public transport. From downtown Vancouver, take the ferry to North Vancouver and the bus to the park entrance.
Apart from the suspension bridge, which seems to be the main attraction, there are several hiking trails around the river and the canyon. The trails are fairly easy. It’s more family stroll than the high-level hike 🙂
You can find more information on the trails here: http://lynncanyon.ca/trails/
My opinion on the park: the trails except the main one, are not well marked. The suspension bridge is funny, but not impressive (except perhaps for someone who has a little vertigo), do not expect a sports challenge. This is however a very nice park to get some fresh air and walk around, close to Vancouver.
So, I recommend it and would come back again, but you know what to expect.
And finally, here are some pictures of the park:
